End-User License Agreement
End-User License Agreement (On-Prem)
Last updated 2026-07-16.
This End-User License Agreement (“EULA”) governs the self-hosted, on-prem deployment of Protet between you (the “Licensee”) and Robin Frehner – Protet, Switzerland (the “Licensor”). It applies in addition to the Terms of Service. The cloud-hosted tier is governed by the Terms and the DPA instead.
1. License grant
Subject to your plan and payment, the Licensor grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to install and run the Protet software and the accompanying detection model bundle (encoder and classifier) within your own infrastructure, for your internal security purposes, for the license term.
2. Restrictions
You may not, and may not permit others to:
- reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code, model weights, or training data of the detection models, except to the extent this restriction is prohibited by mandatory law;
- extract, copy, or re-use the model artifacts outside the licensed software, or run them independently of it;
- redistribute, resell, rent, lease, sublicense, or otherwise make the software or models available to any third party;
- circumvent or disable license, usage, or integrity controls, or remove proprietary notices.
Model artifacts may be watermarked or fingerprinted per Licensee to enable attribution of a leaked or extracted copy.
3. Intellectual property
The software and models, and all intellectual-property rights in them, remain the exclusive property of the Licensor. You receive only the limited license expressly granted here; no other rights are granted by implication.
4. Term, updates and expiry
Licenses are issued for a fixed term (typically 12 months). Renewal delivers the then-current model bundle and any updates. On expiry or termination of the license you must stop using the software and models and delete all copies of the bundle in your possession. Detection quality of an unrenewed bundle degrades over time as the threat landscape changes; continued protection depends on renewal.
5. Support
Support and update entitlements are as described for your plan on the pricing page or in your order.
6. Warranty disclaimer
The software and models are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. Protet is one layer of detection, not a guarantee against compromise, and should be used as part of a broader security posture, not as a sole control.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Licensor's total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with this EULA is limited to the fees you paid for the on-prem license in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. The Licensor is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, lost profits, lost or corrupted data, or business interruption. Nothing here excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under mandatory law, including liability for unlawful intent or gross negligence, or for death or personal injury.
8. Confidentiality
The software, models, and any non-public technical information provided with them are confidential. You will protect them with at least reasonable care and use them only as licensed.
9. Termination
The Licensor may terminate this license with immediate effect on a material breach — in particular any breach of the restrictions in section 2. On termination you must cease all use and delete all copies as set out in section 4. Sections on intellectual property, confidentiality, warranty disclaimer, and liability survive termination.
10. Governing law
This EULA is governed by Swiss law and follows the governing-law and jurisdiction provisions of the Terms of Service.
